WORKSHOP  - Sian Martin   22, 23 September 2006

Friday 22nd Sept - SLIDE LECTURE

"All Wrapped up"

Saturday 23rd Sept - WORKSHOP

“Remove and Replace”

A colourful new experience in drawn thread work.

Sian gave us lots of ideas for removing and replacing threads on fabric. The addition of colour heightened the excitement and gave a whole new take on the subject.

After the talk we were all asked to 'wrap a stick' in some of the fabric that Sian had brought with her and to use innovative ways to produce texture. These are going to be used to produce a display which she will take around the exhibitions.

At the Workshop lots of fabric was coloured and threads drawn out. These were replaced with other threads of different thickness and colour to produce an entirely new fabric.
