WORKSHOP - JEAN and GAIL (Abigail
Crafts, Stonehouse, Glos.)
14 July 2006
“Quilts
to see and touch and other samples”
The scheduled July workshop had to be cancelled due to illness. We all send
Val Campbell-Harding our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
We were fortunate that Jean and Gail could step in at the last minute! (For
more about Abigail Crafts see their web site at www.abigailcrafts.co.uk
)
Jean brought some of her quilts for us to see and touch! We had a lovely
time looking at some of her samples from her City and Guilds and she also showed
us some items produced for 'Fabrications Magazine'.
Jean has made a quilt which will be raffled next year in April at the
Exhibition by Abigail Crafts workshop students - see photos below. The quilt is
beautifully made and all the proceeds from the raffle will go to 'South West
Children's Heart Circle'.
Below are photos of the Guild's day at Stroud Market in May - committee
members displayed items made by members and the Guild tablecloth had its first
outing. The cloth was decorated with 6 inch panels made by members and is now
being used by the South West Area Guilds Exhibition to commemorate the Centenary
2006 and is on the Steward's table.
