EXHIBITIONS
‘Stroud
in Stitches’ will be staging their triennial exhibition at The Museum in the
Park, Stratford Road, Stroud, Gloucestershire from 1st-15th
May 2004 (not Monday the 10th).

Open
Tuesday to Friday from 10am-5pm, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from
11am-5pm. Admission is free.

Richard
Box will open the 2004 exhibition on Saturday 1st May at 12.00 noon. The
location is wonderful and is set in a beautiful Park with plentiful free
parking. Also on site the Museum itself has lots of items of local interest
including many textile articles and a café if you are in need of refreshment.

The
Museum has a wonderful new facility with a large gallery to enable us to show
our embroideries to their best advantage. Most of the items on display will be
available for you to purchase. There will be demonstrations at certain times
during the fortnight. Cards and other items will be for sale, including
card-making kits so that you can take some home and have a go yourself.
Admission is free to both the Museum and the exhibition.

For
those with mobility problems, Disabled parking is outside the museum, disabled
toilets are just inside the entrance to the museum and access is very good.

If
you are interested in joining the Stroud Branch please see the program of events
for 2004. We have lots of workshops for all abilities, and our talks are free to
those who become members of the Branch. On joining, you will also become a
member of the Embroiderers’ Guild with its Headquarters in Hampton Court
Palace in London. You will receive lots of information about further courses and
visits to exotic foreign destinations amongst other things.

come and see for yourself what can be done. We welcome stitchers of all
abilities.
